Prof. Ashish Ganvir
Prof. Ashish Ganvir is an emerging young Assistant Professor at the University of Turku, Finland, where he co-leads the Digital Manufacturing and Surface Engineering (DMS) research group. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur, and a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from University West, Sweden. Prof. Ganvir also earned a Ph.D. in Production Technology with a focus on high-temperature materials processing from University West. He has significant industrial experience from his tenure at GKN Aerospace Sweden AB.
Prof. Ashish Ganvir's research spans additive manufacturing, materials science, and surface engineering, with key areas including novel material development for additive manufacturing, process monitoring, laser material processing, thermal and environmental barrier coatings, solid-state batteries, and bio-ceramic coatings. He has published over 40 scientific papers and has received the prestigious Academy Research Fellowship from the Research Council of Finland. Prof. Ganvir is also a member of the prestigious Young Academy Finland, established by the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters.
His global research experience includes visiting researcher positions at Forschungszentrum Jülich in Germany and Innovnano in Coimbra, Portugal. Additionally, Prof. Ganvir has served as a guest professor at the Paul Scherrer Institute in Switzerland. He has led several national and European international research projects, showcasing his ability to bridge academic research and industrial application to drive innovation in digital manufacturing technologies

Prof. Antti Salminen
Prof. Antti Salminen (D.Sc.) is a professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Turku, where he has been contributing since 2020. He co-leads the Digital Manufacturing and Surface Engineering (DMS) research group, which includes over 25 researchers. Prof. Salminen has played a key role in developing education and research programs in digital manufacturing at the university.
With a career spanning more than 30 years in experimental scientific research and 20 years as a research leader, Prof. Salminen has substantial expertise in additive manufacturing, particularly in laser metal additive manufacturing, as well as in laser-based manufacturing processes and welding technologies. His five years of industry experience in R&D roles further enhance his practical and innovative contributions.
Prof. Salminen has held various academic positions at LUT University, where he further developed his skills and knowledge. He has published over 104 peer-reviewed papers and more than 300 other publications, contributing significantly to the field of mechanical engineering.

Prof. Sagar Sarkar
Prof. Sagar Sarkar completed his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, in 2019, following his Dual Degree (B.Tech (Honours) and M.Tech) from the same institution in 2014. His broad area of research interest is in Laser Material Processing with a particular focus on Laser Additive Manufacturing, Online Process Monitoring and Control, AI and ML in Additive Manufacturing, and Fatigue and Fracture in Additive Manufacturing.
Dr. Sarkar has extensive academic and industrial experience, serving as a Senior Scientific Officer at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Kharagpur, from June 2019 to June 2021, and currently as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Delhi, since June 2021. He has made significant contributions to the field through his research, with selected publications in renowned journals such as Materials Science & Engineering A, Additive Manufacturing, ASME Journal of Manufacturing Science and Engineering, and Surface and Coatings Technology.
He has also been part of several indigenous developments, including the development of a metal 3D printer and system for laser-assisted cold spray. His work investigates various aspects of laser-based additive manufacturing processes and their effects on mechanical properties and fatigue life, contributing to advancements in materials science and engineering.

Dr. Sneha Goel is an emerging young Research Scientist at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, where she pursues pioneering research in additive manufacturing and material characterization. She also serves as a guest researcher, additive manufacturing in mechanical engineering at the University of Turku, Finland.
Dr. Goel's academic journey began with a Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering, coupled with a minor in Industrial and Management Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur. She further honed her expertise by earning an MSc in Mechanical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Production Technology from University West, Sweden.

Dr. Małgorzata Makowska
Dr. Małgorzata Makowska is a distinguished material scientist with a strong background in applied physics and advanced manufacturing techniques. She graduated from Gdansk University of Technology with a degree in Applied Physics and completed her Ph.D. in 2015 on neutron imaging of solid oxide fuel cells at the Department of Energy Conversion and Storage, Technical University of Denmark, in collaboration with the European Spallation Source (ESS ERIC).
From 2016 to 2018, Dr. Makowska worked as an instrument scientist at the fast neutron imaging beamline NECTAR at FRM II, Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Zentrum (MLZ) in Garching, Germany. She then joined the Photons for Engineering and Manufacturing (PEM) group at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) as a postdoctoral fellow from 2018 to 2021. During this period, she focused on advanced manufacturing of ceramics using various synchrotron characterization techniques, such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray fluorescence (XRF) contrast imaging, full-field tomographic microscopy, and high-resolution powder diffraction.
In 2021, Dr. Makowska started a unique bridge position between two divisions at PSI: the Nuclear Energy and Safety (NES) division and the Photon Science Division (PSD). She is actively involved in the Advanced Nuclear Materials group as a material scientist and the Chemical Imaging group as a beamline scientist. Her main scientific focus is to bridge the activities of the Laboratory of Nuclear Materials with the capabilities at large-scale facilities like synchrotron and neutron sources. Additionally, she is dedicated to developing methodologies for operando studies in additive manufacturing, aiming to advance the field through innovative research and collaboration.

Dr. Francesco Trevisan
Dr. Francesco Trevisan is a distinguished Additive Manufacturing Senior Expert at Wärtsilä Oy, renowned for his extensive expertise in laser powder bed fusion technology. Born in Trieste, Italy, he embarked on his academic journey with a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from Trieste University (2009-2012). He then pursued a Master's degree in Material Engineering at Politecnico di Torino (2012-2014), followed by a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Technology focusing on Laser Powder Bed Fusion technology (2014-2018).
In his professional career, Francesco has accumulated significant experience in the field of additive manufacturing. From 2018 to 2019, he served as the SLM Production Manager at Progold in Italy. Since 2019, he has been an integral part of the Wärtsilä AM team, working in both Italy and Finland. In this role, he serves as the scientific reference for additive manufacturing within Wärtsilä and manages various AM-related projects in R&D and innovation applications. Mr. Joe Ajay. A
Clocked a decade in Additive Manufacturing, Mr. Joe Ajay. A is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Professional & Certified Reliability Engineer. He has been awarded by the Indian Air Force for implementing the 1st Metal 3D-printed flying part in India & by the Indian Navy for the successful implementation of AM in Naval ships.
Joe is a member of the ‘Working group for Additive Manufacturing’ & ‘HIP Process for flight critical parts’ on the Standardization of AM production processes at CEMILAC-DRDO. He is currently working on process development & qualification of AM with ISRO, DPSU & DRDO labs.

Mr. Luis Carlos Molinero
Mr. Luis Carlos Molinero has extensive expertise in laser wire DED, which has potential applications in the area of additive manufacturing. As the Country Manager for Meltio, a pioneering Spanish firm at the forefront of laser-wire DED 3D printing technologies, Mr. Molinero is dedicated to advancing the awareness and application of cutting-edge manufacturing solutions in India. His role involves bridging the gap between innovative technologies and diverse industries, driving growth, and fostering new opportunities across sectors.
Dr. Sini Metsä-Kortelainen
Dr. Sini Metsä-Kortelainen serves as the Head of Ecosystems and Senior Ecosystem Lead at DIMECC. With 15 years of experience in additive manufacturing, she currently leads the Finnish Additive Manufacturing Ecosystem (FAME). Her responsibilities include orchestrating ecosystem initiatives, fostering collaboration among stakeholders, and driving the strategic vision of the ecosystem alongside member companies. FAME is an industrially driven ecosystem dedicated to increasing the role of additive manufacturing in Finland and unlocking business potential in AM capabilities. The ecosystem comprises nearly 60 members, covering the entire AM value chain, from machine and materials developers to software and design companies, AM service providers, certification bodies, research organizations, and end users.

Mr. Aakash Gupta
Mr. Aakash Gupta is an alumnus of IIT Delhi and did his MTech from the Department of Applied Mechanics back in 2014. He is currently working as a solution consultant for Materialise NV. Materialise is a global leader in the field of additive manufacturing, providing cutting-edge software solutions & 3D printing services.
With his last ten years of experience in the AM industry, he has a sound understanding of the additive manufacturing process, its industrial applications, and the business landscape. His areas of interest are suitable part identification, technical demonstration, customer interaction, and consulting in AM.
